Decarbonization Process

The transition to a low-carbon economy by eliminating fossil fuel use, shifting to renewable energy, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across industries, transport, and agriculture. 


Democratic Legitimacy

The degree to which a political system, such as the European Union, is perceived as fair, representative, and accountable to its citizens. 


Democracy

A political system where leaders are chosen through free and fair elections, often supplemented by civil liberties (e.g., free press, independent judiciary) and principles like participation, representation, and accountability. 


Deliberativeness

The extent to which laws and policies are formed through respectful, reasonable dialogue among equals. It emphasizes inclusive, rational discussions to reach collective decisions, often seen in deliberative democratic practices.
