On May 6, 2025, the workshop β€œπ„π¦π¨ππ’π¨π§π¬ 𝐚𝐧𝐝 π’π¨πœπ’πžππ² 𝐒𝐧 𝐈𝐭𝐚π₯𝐲” was held at the UniversitΓ  degli Studi di Firenze, organised by the International Sociological Association (ISA) Working Group on Sociology of Emotions and promoted by Prof. Adrian Scribano (University of Buenos Aires).

Our partner Roberto Tesei, postdoctoral researcher at the UniversitΓ  di Trento, presented a talk titled Β«π…πžπžπ₯𝐒𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐑𝐞 πƒπ’π¬πšπ¬ππžπ«: 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐬, π„π§π―π’π«π¨π§π¦πžπ§π, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨π₯𝐒𝐭𝐒𝐜𝐬 𝐒𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭-π‚π‘πžπ«π§π¨π›π²π₯ 𝐈𝐭𝐚π₯𝐲». His contribution explored how the 1986 nuclear accident triggered collective emotional responses – fear, anger, uncertainty – that reshaped public trust in science and institutions, influencing political decisions and challenging dominant ideas of progress.

Understanding these patterns is crucial for rebuilding democratic trust and fostering collective action in the face of ecological breakdown.
