Participation in the Earth System Governance Conference in Bath

RETOOL partners attended the Earth System Governance Conference in Bath, presenting on democratic climate governance in Europe. RETOOL partners attended this year's Earth System Governance Conference, hosted by the University of Bath.

The event brought together a warm, energetic community of researchers tackling the challenges of environmental governance, offering plenty of food for thought from both early-career and senior scholars. The highlight was joining a panel on "Strengthening Democratic Governance and Climate Action in Europe," fittingly held in the council chamber of Bath's historic Guildhall building. There, the team presented ongoing research on how context shapes the meaningful implementation of public participation in EU climate governance. The conference was a great opportunity to share emerging findings from the RETOOL Horizon Europe project, which explores the links between climate change and democratic governance.
