Participation in the 8th Young European Law Scholars Conference

Last week, Dublin City University Postdoctoral Researcher Alessandra Accogli attended the 8th 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 Conference, held at Utrecht University on 3-4 July, focused on “𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧.”

Alessandra presented a paper titled “𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬’ 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐀𝐧 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲” sharing preliminary findings from her work with the RETOOL project.

The paper explores the policy and societal impacts of citizens’ assemblies on climate change and biodiversity loss in Ireland.
