Project objectives
The main objectives of the RETOOL project:
To deepen understanding of the link between democratic governance and climate action through a new analytical framework and open-access datasets.
To explore how democratic institutions in Europe respond to climate challenges, drawing lessons from history and examining innovative practices.
To contribute to revitalising democratic governance in Europe by generating and synthesising insights on the relationship between the climate emergency and democratic governance, presenting them in impactful formats.
To act as a bridge between academic research on democratic climate governance and policymakers, practitioners, civil society, and the public.
